Many other characters were allowed to be weirder in terms of mechanics and tactics. We also deliberately alternated between making weird characters and making simpler, baseline characters. In that last category especially Scoop was a big success: deliberately designed to be easy to like and quick to learn for most players. Scoop indeed turned out to be one of our most popular characters.Joost van Dongenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00569566310604620045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3064325214589649535.post-88692486400694695422020-02-04T20:39:39.086+01:002020-02-04T20:39:39.086+01:00We intend to keep the Awesomenauts servers running...We intend to keep the Awesomenauts servers running for a long time! :)

In terms of development, we're currently fully focused on our unannounced new game, which is turning out to be really cool. :)Joost van Dongenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00569566310604620045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3064325214589649535.post-57227161263339779392020-02-03T06:53:48.661+01:002020-02-03T06:53:48.661+01:00I like your game, i bought it on 2012. Typically these characters don't often make it super high in tier lists but remain as an honest way to play the game, leaving them at the center of a spectrum, from here other characters stray at varying intervals of distance away from this template leaning either towards the most overpowered, to least powerful.

in the format of an online game, where every change in an update can potentially alter anything from the goal of the game or even the rules, turning it into a completely different game. Recognising the most honest character in that version is crucial to establishing anything from, what are the basic needs and weaknesses in this version? what is and isn't acceptable? what is a quote unquote: 'complete toolkit today'?

I Think what's important to realise is that any game with multiple different strategies available will always have a best and worst strategy, and the point isn't to eliminate, or to temper them per se, but rather you have to draw a line as to what is and isn't acceptable. the best characters are often the best due to one or more particular aspects of them being the correct response to everything, while the worst are in their position due to relying too much on their only acceptable response available, as a result of having too many wrong or 'situational' responses available.

this isn't accounting for archetypes of course which, depend entirely on the game itself to determine which strategy is the best and characters who fall under one of these should strive to the best or worst in their respective category, rather than be the best in everyone else's class. lots of observations to be made about your publication Joost.Olaffffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3064325214589649535.post-88139962482203719882020-02-03T00:43:41.754+01:002020-02-03T00:43:41.754+01:00Please don’t abandon this game :( It has so much c...Please don’t abandon this game :( It has so much charm and such a loyal player base.
